Passana Festival: Lydia Ludic supports the Burkinabese culture

Lydia Ludic Burkina Faso is back at the 4th edition of the Passana Festival. Last year, the subsidiary of Grupo Pefaco sponsored the 3rd edition.

Passana Festival is an initiative of the Association Passana, its objective is the involvement of the youth and children in the Burkinabese culture, through its promotion and development. The festival also highlights traditional music and promotes rights for the disabled. It encourages people to take part in the event, in order to better understand the national culture.

The 2014 edition of the Passana Festival took place in Ouagadougou between the 15th and the 19th of April. People had the chance to take part in various cultural workshops and debates; they could attend live concerts, film and documentary showings.

This year, the festival revolved around 2 themes:
• Theme I: enhancing the involvement of youth in African traditional music.
• Theme II: Promoting and highlighting the rights of disabled people in the society.

Lydia Ludic Burkina Faso took an active part in organizing the festival, particularly for the disabled, through the setting up of basketball tournament.

The tournament took place on a beautiful day and all teams that were taking part featured players in wheelchairs.

By taking part in this cultural and social event, Lydia Ludic is adamant of the social policy established by its founders, Francis Perez and Olivier Cauro, of getting involved in the development of local communities.

More information on the 4th edition of the Passana Festival is available on the official website of the Association.

All the photos of the closing ceremony are available on the Lydia Ludic and Festival Passana Facebook pages.
